Parent’s Day Out is a ministry of the First United Methodist Church.  This program was created by local moms who wanted to provide parents with a well deserved break.

Parent’s Day Out is committed to supporting each child’s development by giving them a safe and caring environment to learn and play.

Our Teachers

Kelly Davis joined the PDO team in 2015 as a substitute and as the program continued to grow became a teacher in 2016. She is now the Director of Parent’s Day Out and lead teacher. Kelly is engaged and has one child. She enjoys a variety of hobbies but reading will always be her favorite. “I’m honored to be a part of this program. It fills such a need in the community and provides children with such a fun way to learn, explore, and grow. I have loved meeting each child and learning all about them. The kids’ personalities really get to shine and each child brings something different to the day. I enjoy it so much; I never have to drag myself to work.”

Emalie Ohlson is joining the PDO team for the first time this year as a teacher. Emalie lives in Wyanet with her husband, 2 daughters, dog, and cat. She loves reading and painting, and is on the leadership team for the Bureau County MOPS group. “I’m so excited to be joining PDO this year! I’m honored that Kelly asked me to help with this amazing program and can’t wait to get to know the kids. It’s such a wonderful program to have in the community!”
